“ It Isn’t Really “

It isn’t really like being shot against a green screen
compulsively repeated being invoked like a dehumanized
human being peeled away by a redacted label
looking like a simulation of  inescapable dangers
strategically pasted in simulation of toxic waste
covertly placed closer and closer to naïveté
in a deranged kind of way like penetrating gazes
stealthily portrayed on an unsanctioned bootlegged stage
as a trial separation minus obligation unwrapped impatiently
pending sanctions, “Here come the bootlegs!”
as homemade fully inflated cartoon faces
having undergone numerous confrontations
with a deranged mermaid exchanging
excerpted conversations post breakup
in a teeny-tiny space half way
between tacky meditation and stillness basically
yet never really meant to be believed in the first place
being renamed, “Matchmaking Naïveté”

like a droplet building block culling process
with white wings and black spots as a hot-
fisted commodity against ash columns
for former electric cars with logistical problems
stopping and starting at robotic chargers
plastered and whitewashed as part embalmed
animal and part god products with triangle markings
in earthenware jars carved into bedrock
then left bobbing in marshes while exchanging gossip
with barefoot farmers managing sparse harvests

“ This is tricky!” Like flying in the face
of low hanging out ranked replays
as a singles’ debate being restaged
by letters between names while exclaiming,
“ Well, ain’t that fancy! But what if anything has changed?”
as equally estranged insistent V-shapes
with little variation attempting to re-locate
upending gangs at inflated market rates
just adjacent to fire stations
serving as neighborhood incubators
siloed by gender and race
feeling gregariously shortchanged
by second languages...
